superficial

Well, i pierced my eyebrow yesterday. It looks really cool, but my dad doesn't like it. He wants me to take it out. Heh: i did, the hole is still there: obv the eyebrow either heals slowly, or just... i dunno. but that's cool. i'll wear it at school, and when i'm asleep: just make sure the 'rents don't see it. which should be easy.

in any case: my dad said it seemed like i was doing it to make a statement. which i then related back to my trench coat: supposedly i wanted that because it's "in". out of all the 900 people at our school, me, daniel, and simon have a trench like mine. that's .33 percent. not even one percent! how is that "in"?!? Also, he thinks i either wear black to make a statement, to not fit in, or to not break from my norm of having worn it these past 3 years or so. the point is, that he thinks i'm superficial. and obv, so are all the other people who do the things i do. fuck him.

piercings have been done for thousands of years: my ancestors stuck humongous gold plugs in their ears: they were one of the first people to "gauge" their piercings. tattoos have been done for thousands of years too. the fact is that my dad is convinced that if people don't conform to the "norm" they are weird, and he doesn't like them. i hate close-minded people. unfortunately, i live in a house with two of them who happen to be my legal parents. but you know what?: they don't act like parents: and i'm not only talking in this respect.

i guess what i'm trying to say is that piercings are not a big deal. and people who are convinced that getting a piercing is a way of making a statement, or sticking out, or getting attention, are stupid. they don't get that some people have a reason for doing it, and a good one, not those stupid people reasons. also, my dad said "isn't poking a hole in your body a bit extreme?" i confronted him with the fact that there are already holes in our body when we're born, 7 of them for girls, and 6 for guys. and that hadn't they themselves taken me to get my ears pierced when i wasn't even one year old? what was the difference?

in conclusion: my parents are stupid. they need to shut up and leave me alone. they don't get me, despite the fact that i have told them many times about myself, my views, my opinions, and aspects of my personality that are different than what they think. they need to shove all their bullshit up their ass.
